Learned a lot from this course
posted this review on July 21, 2014

Love the book! The machine tuning tips and tricks are excellent. It took me from being a total beginner to a tuning expert in no time. Repairs are a bit more difficult, but simple tuning is a piece of cake for me now. I totally learned from this course!

The best tattoo machine guide
posted this review on April 12, 2014

This is the best and easiest to follow among all the tattoo machine guides I’ve checked out. It’s informative, easy to follow, and definitely professionally made. There’s nothing more I can ask for from a tattoo machine guide. There are other good ones too, but if you’re gonna buy just one, this is the best option.

This is a pretty good deal

I’m a self-taught tattoo artist. From the very start of my career, I’ve worked on my own. I practiced my first tattoo works on my own arm. Now that I have my own tattoo machine I also want to maintain it myself, and take care of all of its needs myself. It’s like an extension of me. When it’s in bad shape, it’s like I’m in bad shape too and I don’t want other people poking their noses into it. So I learned how to tune it up and fix it on my own, and this guide has been really helpful. This is mainly for basic maintenance but it’s already good enough for now. There are no advance fixing techniques for machines that are almost total wrecks but if you’re just after a bit of fixing and some cleaning then you’ll learn a lot from of helpful info from Knowing & Tuning Tattoo Machines. This is also cheaper than other materials, so you get a really food deal from here.

Really like how this is written

This is one manual to rule them all. I tried a lot other tattoo machine tuning manuals, but they were crap. Knowing & Tuning Tattoo Machines is the only one that was written in an acceptable way. It’s not perfect, and it’s not all that complete like there are information here that wasn’t in the others and vice versa but it’s the most complete when it comes to the information that matters. Another thing is that it’s written in a more professional way, and the instructions are more detailed. There are a lot of shortcuts here, but the longer methods are also explained for better understanding. I think this will be good for intermediate tattoo machine tuners as well, although it’s best for beginners like me. I’m a tattoo artist by trade, but knowing how to tune machines it’s part of my job, just so I don’t waste money having my machines tuned.

I'm now making money from these machines

I’m now making a living tuning tattoo machines, and I all just started with me getting a hold of Knowing & Tuning Tattoo Machines. I don’t even know how to tattoo people, I just know how to fix machines. My mom’s boyfriend is a tattoo artist so he connected me to some friends who don’t know how to fix and tune their own machines and there are a lot of them. I do regular tuning for a lot of them, and the money is quite good for something so easy. My mom’s boyfriend also helped me put up ads for my service. I earned back the money I spent for this on my first gig.

Very good tattoo machine tuning guide

My tattoo machine tuning knowledge has improved a lot since getting Knowing & Tuning Tattoo Machines. I am still in the process of learning everything about tattoos from tattooing itself to taking care of the machine, so guides like this are very valuable to me. Good thing I found a really good one here. Two thumbs up!

Great investment for tattoo artists

It’s important for a tattoo artist to know how to tune his own machine. I didn’t learn from this book as I had to learn tuning the hard way and on my own when I was starting out. But it’s something I’d recommend to beginners. One of my friends who’s just getting started in the tattoo industry has this and I read it one time and I was impressed with the content, I just had to leave this comment. There are so many lessons here that can make your life easier as a tattoo artist. You’ll learn how to make sure that your machine is always working at its best condition and you’ll also learn how to troubleshoot problems with your machine. It’s quite embarrassing when you have customers waiting and then something happens to your machine, and you have no clue what to do. Here, you’ll learn what you should do. This could have saved me a lot of trouble if only I had found it when I was just a newbie tattoo artist. Believe me, it’s something worth investing in.

All tattoo artists should have this
John Trenton (from Trinidad, USA) posted this review on December 12, 2012

As a budding tattoo artist, one of my worst problems is when my machine acts up and I don’t know what to do. Knowing & Tuning Tattoo Machines taught me exactly how to keep my machine in perfect condition without bringing it to a pro. Saves me a lot of time and money. The book has very clear instructions, and it’s quite cheap too. The bonus eBook is also helpful! This is generally a good package to invest in if you’re new in the industry.

Can't go wrong with this
Patrick Mullins (from Island Park, USA) posted this review on November 18, 2012

This is a must-read for new tattoo artists who don’t know much about machines yet. It will save you a lot of money if you learn how to tune your machine, and if you understand its ins and outs. This book will be more than enough for you to learn how to do that. It’s clearly-written, the instructions are detailed, there’s no way for you to mess up!

Detailed explanations and clear diagrams
Dave Wilhelm (from Boones Mill, USA) posted this review on September 11, 2012

This book has detailed diagrams and explanations on how to tune-up tattoo machines. The instructions in the book are so easy to follow that I don’t have to pay someone to fix my machine whenever it breaks down. Before, when business was going great, I had no problems paying people to clean and fix my machines. But business has slowed down since a lot other tattoo shops opened near mine, and so I decided to just learn this so I can do it on my own and not have to pay anyone to do it for me. This book saved me hundreds of dollars. There are also some tttoo artists that come over to my shop to get theirs fixed and I earn good extra money for that too. It’s really worth the $20 investment on this book.

I now offer a tuneup service for tatt machines
Ed Clark (from San Antonio, usa) posted this review on August 5, 2012

I’m a new tattoo artist. I know much about doing tattoos, but when it comes to the machine, I’m a total loser. I bought a 2nd-hand tattoo machine from a buddy who went abroad, but I forgot to ask him to set it up before his flight, so I couldn’t use it. I don’t know other people who are interested in tattoos, so I was already considering paying someone to set it up for me when I found this book. I didn’t know it was that easy to work with. Took me just about an hour to have it running smoothly. The diagrams are so easy to follow, and the explanations are clear too. My machine is doing great now, and I’m starting to practice with it. I also offer tattoo machine tune-up service for other tatt noobs.

A great bit of kit!

I have had a good read now and it is a great bit of kit! No-one has yet managed to get full detail in this type of document yet, but this one is ahead of the others by far.

I think what Tim is doing is great and sharing info is the best way to keep up to date and learn new techniques, other options, etc.

This is awesome to read...

This tattoo eBook is very detailed and has a lot of information, which made it awesome to read. I learned several new things from it that I could not find info on elsewhere.

This is one eBook I plan to keep track of and refer back to many times in the future. I want to thank Tim very much for a great tattoo book.
