Quick, simple, easy, and healthy

Who says a city lifestyle should be an unhealthy lifestyle? Since my husband and I moved to New York, we forgot about living a healthy life. But when he was diagnosed of high blood sugar and high cholesterol levels, we decided to go healthy. Initially, we had no idea how to make it work. We tried “health foods” in the supermarket because they were quick and they were supposed to be healthy. We also tried taking supplements because we thought it was good for the body. While surfing the net for some healthy but quick recipes, I found this guide. I learned so much from this. Being an urban mommy, I thought this was the perfect guide for me. We are now following ALL the suggestions here, and we’ve never felt better. I think it helps a lot that our motivation isn’t physical appearance, but health itself. We want to be healthy, and not just lose weight to look good. Right now we’ve both lost about 15-20 lbs. We’re not in a hurry to lose weight. As long as we’re feeling the changes in our system, and in the way our bodies work, we’re fine. And believe me, the techniques here are very easy. It will be a bit difficult adjusting at first, but once you get the hang of it, you won’t consider any other way of eating.

I got better energy level and a more stable mood

I am not just after healthy eating for losing weight. I needed it because I’m usually sluggish and fatigued. I get horrible mood swings. Sometimes I get so sad, almost depressed. My sister who had some courses in nutrition back in college told me that proper eating could be the key to getting energized and getting a more stable mood. She recommended Healthy Urban Kitchen. The transition was difficult. I’m used to ordering food from restaurants and fast foods, so I had to adjust real bad. Until now I’m still getting used to it. But it’s true that my mood has become better since I got into this kind of diet. The recipes are delicious, and most of them are easy to preparing. But you really gotta discipline yourself especially if you go out a lot with friends. If you’re after it for fast weight loss, you might have to throw in some exercise and other fitness activities because this isn’t a starvation diet. If you want to lose a lot of weight quickly, this won’t be enough.

This book is great! I’ve learned a lot of healthy recipes with the help of this book. It’s got so many healthy recipes that taste good too. It’s not really made for dieting but it will surely help you feel and live healthier. The bonuses here are also great. They’re made to help you make better choices when cooking and eating. These small things, when they add up do something big for your health.

Almost all the recipes in this healthy cookbook are hits to my family. I’ve got really picky eaters at home – my 2 daughters. As much as I’d like to give them a healthy diet, they’re just very very picky with what they eat. My husband and I, on the other hand, have plenty of weight to lose. It’s impossible for me to prepare a separate set of meals for the kids, and a separate one for the two of us because I’m working fulltime too. Only my son has no eating issues at home, but he’s an athlete, so of course I want to give him the right nutrition. This book answered all my prayers! It’s got a lot of delicious recipes that we all love, plus they have the right nutrition. As for weight loss, don’t expect it to be instant. It’s still gonna be a slow-process since it’s not a killer diet program, but the important thing is that you’ll lose weight the healthy way. If you add a bit of exercises, then your results will be accelerated. I’ve no problems in this book at all! Among the hundred recipes it’s got, I can come up with thousands more with only a few little changes. Since I got this, I always looked forward to cooking for the family, and seeing them all smiles while eating.

So many affordable, yet delicious recipes

There are so many recipes in this book for the modern budget and the modern taste bud. They’re so delicious, but you can cook them without messing up the food budget. I’m a mom of four, and a wife of a foodie, so I gotta make sure I cook only good, yet affordable food. It was so difficult to think of what to cook before I got this guide. I used to spend my Saturdays planning the food for the entire week, so I can show it to my husband on family day, but that’s too time consuming and it takes out the element of surprise whenever my husband comes home for dinner. Since I got this guide, I can just pick one randomly everyday, and my husband loves almost all of the recipes in here! I even get to save on the monthly food budget as the recipes in here are quite cheap. Best of all, they’re so easy to prepare that I still get to have some me time, after preparing meals for the kids and for my hubby.

The recipes are so worth it! Antonio really did a great job on this one. I was slightly overweight before I found this book, and I  had high cholesterol level. The doctor said it was no major cause for alarm but I really gotta start eating right, or else, I could aggravate my problem. I got this book among many others, but this is my favorite. The recipes are delicious, easy-to-prepare, and healthy. Antonio’s been generous to include 100 recipes in a single book. Some of those I got had only 20-50 recipes, so they’re not worth the money. The free cooking tips and ideas monthly add even more worth to the book. I thought it was just a way to attract more customers, but Antonio has been consistent in sending them. And they’re not just random cooking information, they are really useful. I thank Antonio for contributing to better weight management. I am lighter now. I haven’t had my cholesterol checked yet, but I feel that I’m so much healthier now.


Lost 20lbs

This helped me discover which foods are right for me, what I'm allergic to, how food directly affects my mood and not to mention the fact that I lost 20lbs and dropped 2 dress sizes! I got completely off all medications and sleep better than ever! Nutrition can be complicated and there is a lot of info out there that simply doesn't work. Antonio taught me exactly what does and it doesn't require hours in the gym and that it is possible to feel great everyday!
