I am a singer/songwriter that started recording in 2009. A friend gave me this course as a present and believe me, I have improved my quality and power in singing like I never thougth I would. It is simple and easy to follow. Keep the exercises going and your singing will improve dramatically. The truth is I Sing with Freedom.

Never tried Per Bristow, I'm still quite doubtful
posted this review on October 21, 2013

Especially to the last reviewer, you said Per Bristow was a rip off of Seth....
I browsed Seth Riggs product Similar to sing with freedom, and well "Singing for the stars" doesn't seem as detailed as Sing with freedom......so while you may call it a "rip off" I think the little extra quality of Per's CD makes it unique.......even if it was founded on Seth Riggs method (of which he has had thousands of students study under him for educational purposes)

This really helped improve my voice
posted this review on August 2, 2013

For all of you who wants to learn how to sing easily and powerfully, this is exactly what you need. I was like you before, I really wanted to learn how to sing. My 2 sisters are good singers, so I was the only one left out. I attended a brief singing course a few years ago, but that didn’t help much. I also practiced a lot in karaoke bars, and even at home, but still not much improvement. When I found this product, my real musical talent was awakened. The tips were very easy to follow and really practical. The drills are also functional. Until now, I’m using this program to polish my voice. I’m sure there are a lot other singing programs on the internet, but I won’t trade this for any other product like it because I really feel the changes in my voice quality here, and also I’m now able to sing a wider variety of songs.

Rip of off Speech Level Singing!!
posted this review on April 1, 2013

THis is nothing but a rip-off from Seth Riggs' Speech Level Singing, that's been around for over 50 years!  I went to The Singing Zone Facebook page and asked them THREE times to explain what the differences between these two methods were, and they kept deleting my question and never bothered to answer me.  I sent them a message, asking them once again, with no response.  Why would they take someone else's method and claim it as their own to make money from!  Took some screen shots of my question on their page to show how they would continually delete me.  Also, notifying Seth Riggs that someone is ripping him off!  Why go with a cheap imitation when you can have the REAL DEAL, a method used by over 120 GRAMMY WINNERS!  Your favorites singers used Seth Riggs!

Per's great!
posted this review on January 4, 2013

I couldn’t believe I learned how to sing entirely on the Internet! I was supposed to go to singing classes before but my schedule at work doesn’t allow it. I have a little idea about singing, and a lot of people say that my voice is good and unique, but I don’t know the techniques in singing. With Sing With Freedom, I can now sing with confidence because I already know how to use most singing techniques. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but I’ve already jumped to the intermediate level. I was at the beginner level when I got started. I also feel and hear the difference now. I don’t get as strained when I sing songs that have high notes. I also learned the best ways to take care of my voice from this book. I also have a lot of good things to say about the Singing Zone ,but I’m a little disappointed that the free membership only lasts for a month, so maybe when I get the chance to browse it more, I’d leave a comment for it as well.

Per is an amazing teacher!
Felicia Adams (from Sunnyvale, USA) posted this review on December 14, 2012

I love Sing With Freedom so much! It has very clear instructions on what to do, and how to tell if you’re doing it correctly. I thought that I was a good singer before, but after learning from Per Bristow, I realized how much I didn’t know about singing. It’s really made a difference in my singing voice. The Singing Zone has been very helpful too, but I don’t think it’s necessary to spend a monthly paymeny for it. Just work at it while you have the free membership.

The perfect duo!
Caitlin Broas (from Elridge, USA) posted this review on December 13, 2012

Sing With Freedom and The Singing Zone is the perfect pair for people who want to improve their singing. I learned a lot from these two even if The Singing Zone is only available for a limited time. I really worked hard on the resources in The Singing Zone while I was still a member. I’m not a member anymore, but I already know some of the drills and that’s enough for now. Sing With Freedom, on the other hand is a very valuable resource for me until now. I’m still practicing, but it’s good to know the theories behind having an awesome voice, and the techniques really help too!

Karaoke got much better!
Jean Jackson (from Okoboji, USA) posted this review on November 16, 2012

When I first saw this I thought it was too expensive for an online course. Most singing courses I see online aren’t even a hundred dollars and this is 147! I bought only because of the testimonials and because there’s a guarantee. I’d say I didn’t get disappointed. The first DVD I watched, I learned a lot. I already know how to sing, but it’s not great singing, just good singing. I usually go to karaoke with friends, so I wanted to learn a little bit more. After just the first DVD, my singing already improved. I also enjoyed the Singing Zone so much. Too bad it’s only for a limited time. I also noticed that I don’t get as tired as I used to when I’m singing. When we sing, we go for all-nighters. Before, after singing like 3-4 songs, I’m already too tired, and my voice becomes raspy. Using what I learned from Per, I can sing all night, and my voice stays the same!

Good enough if you can't get formal singing training
posted this review on October 29, 2012

Just like others, I love this course. I still think a formal singing course is better, but if you’re on a budget, or you just don’t have the time to bother with a formal singing course, then this should be enough. My daughter’s been using this, and I can already see her improvements.

Another satisfied student
posted this review on October 22, 2012

There are already so many positive reviews about this product that I doubt if you need more to be convinced, but yeah, I’m also a satisfied student of Per Bristow. His course is professionally made, and superior to other online singing courses. It isn’t cheaply made and I think most other online singing courses are patterned from this. Per will also make you feel like a real student because he answers queries promptly. Your relationship as a trainer and a student doesn’t end after you’ve paid for the program, so it’s really like having a home-based voice training course.

I sure learned a lot from this bundle!
posted this review on October 14, 2012

Sing with Freedom is good, but The Singing Zone is great! I’ve learned so much from this package, that until now, I’m subscribed to the Singing Zone. I think more people should know about this program because for me it worked better than attending voice classes. I tried the basic of that 2 years ago, but barely improved. There were so many students that that coach finds it hard to assist us all. There was one major feedback session where I learned my weaknesses, but I didn’t learn how to correct those weaknesses because that was the alst day of the course. Anyway, with this course form Per I had no worries and problems at all. I send him emails from time to time for clarification only. Nothing major. I’m happy with this course and the membership website is something I love spending for every month. I learn something new all the time, so it’s really a great investment.

The only real singing course online
posted this review on October 8, 2012

I can see that this course gets only positive reviews, and that is for a good reason. I also think that this is the single most effective singing course available online. Sure you can always hire a singing coach, but that’s gonna cost too much money. Here, you get to learn from a real singing course, without having to pay much. I’ve improved so much since I started under Per’s care, and now I’m planning to extend my membership to his website. I don’t think it’s that bad that the membership is just for a month. The quality of the website is worth spending a few dollars more for, so I think it’s just fair.

The course deserves high ratings
posted this review on October 8, 2012

No doubt this course gets such high ratings. I’ve bought a lot of online singing courses in the past but liked none of them. This is the first and only, and I think this will also be the last course I purchased that I actually had the patience to digest. Others are just too boring and I don’t think they’re gonna get me anywhere in the long run. This is a brilliant course that will really not just teach you how to sing, but also keep your motivation for learning up. The Bristow voice method is definitely a unique approach to learning how to sing, and whether or not you are naturally talented, Per has something in store for you. I’ve no complaints so far, but if I see something wrong, I’d be sure to update.

The course is true to its promise
posted this review on October 2, 2012

This course is true to its promise. It did help me extend my range, and I am now able to sing more songs. I don’t have any formal training in music, but I do have a good voice, and a lot of people comment on that, so I decided to pursue singing. At first, I only practiced watching youtube videos and just listening to singers, but I realized that won’t be enough if I want to sing really well. I bought a video course before, but that was just the same as the ones I can view on youtube for free, so I returned it before the trial period was over. This is the second singing course that I bought, and I really love the DVDs! They’re awesome! Per really understands what you need to know step-by-step, so you can learn to sing without all the confusion. He also has that something that keeps you motivated throughout the course, even if you’re working on your own. I am totally in love with this singing course, and I will never trust any other.

You won't regret buying this
Logan Adams (from Terry, USA) posted this review on September 23, 2012

Both the DVD course and the membership website have fantastic materials. I’ve been attending singing classes, but they’re too expensive so I stopped and just used this. I think Per’s been so smart to have brought his talent in teaching singing to the Internet. There are a lot of good singers, even great singers out there, but they don’t know how to teach. Per’s got a knack for both and I’m thankful that he teaches online instead of conducting expensive voice lessons. I’ve noticed improvements in my voice quality and singing style since I’ve been under his guidance, so it’s really worth a lot more than I paid for. 147 dollars may seem a bit steep for an online course, but you can always try it on the moneyback guarantee and if you think it’s not working for you, you can return it anyway, so I suggest giving this a try. I swear it will make a big difference to your singing voice.

It's great but I hope he extends the free pass period to 3 month
R.Y. (from Anaheim, USA) posted this review on August 11, 2012

Per’s program is great, but the 30-day pass to his website isn’t enough. I think this program and the membership to that site are both essential in improving my singing voice. I learned a lot from the DVD, but I couldn’t imagine getting by without a membership to his Singing Zone, cause I needed the learning materials from there that work with the DVDs. How can I practice without the needed audio tracks and written materials? I hope Per extends his free pass to at least three months for future customers. I think by then learners will be able to do stuff by themselves. I suggest buying this, but be ready to shell out additional money for the membership to his website. It’s still better than having to purchase different training materials for different needs.

Made my Ok singing voice fantastic!
Chelsea Hopkins (from Richardson, USA) posted this review on August 10, 2012

I used to have an OK singing voice, but Per’s program made it fantastic! After being on this program for about a month, friends started commenting that my voice has gotten better. Per’s approach is unique, and easy to follow for someone who’s got no formal music education like me. I’ve always wanted to go to music school, but I can’t afford it. I’m glad there’s something like Per’s course. It’s like having formal music education at a fraction of the price. I’m still continuing to practice because I know that my voice can still get better. The resources that get added to the site from time to time help me keep my motivation and interest up. I hope Per can offer singing short-term singing classes around the country at an affordable price. I’d definitely not miss that!

Great course!
April Armstrong (from Boston, USA) posted this review on July 4, 2012

This course is just great! I’m very happy that Per Bristow released this collection. 4 DVDs may not seem much, but this is actually so much more than enough to develop a good singing voice. My voice wasn’t that bad even before, but I feel that with this course, I am reaching my fullest potential. It’s just wonderful. My boyfriend got surprised the last time we had a karaoke party. He said I sang so well.

I am planning to continue my membership with the Singing Zone. I do think that it’s worth the money. I really want to be a great singer and this is just soooo much better than hiring a singing coach. It’s cheaper and I can go at it whenever I want and wherever I am. I even invite some girlfriends over to practice with me, and they are making progress too. It’s a good way to spend some time with them.

This is overall a great course no one should pass up.

This did a miracle for my singing voice
posted this review on July 2, 2012

I always thought that my voice was a hopeless case. When I tried Per’s course, however, I noticed some improvements right away. Now, I can sing confidently without getting laughed at. I’m still a long way to American Idol level singer, but I can wow my friends with the improvements I made in a short time. I’m still doing the exercises whenever I’m free to stretch my range a bit further. I have never loved singing as much as I do now.

My only concern is that I hope the membership to Per’s website gets extended to 90 days or for a lifetime if possible. The DVDs are good but the additional materials on the website are also very helpful. When my membership there expired, I got a bit discouraged, but when I got accustomed to the DVDs alone I got back on track again.

I have bought Sing with
BlueNote (from Wellington, New Zealand) posted this review on September 5, 2011

I have bought Sing with Freedom a little over a year ago. Prior to that I have been taking singing lessons on and off for about 6 months and I tried some other singing courses as well.

The first singing course that I bought was Brett Manning’s Singing Success. It consists of a number of what I would call ‘classic’ singing lessons. If you are at all familiar with how singing is generally thought then you know what I mean. It’s singing different scales up and down and seeing how far up (or down) you can go in pitch. It also has some other more interesting stuff but I’m reviewing a different course here…

I did increase my pitch and I got more comfortable with transitions from head to chest voice but I still wasn’t really satisfied with my singing. It wasn’t anything I could really put a finger on, it just didn’t feel right.

That was more or less where I was when I purchased Sing with Freedom. Now let’s get to the actual review.

This course is different than anything else I have tried before. I know it claims that it will increase your range, strength and add richness to your tone. But quite frankly I don’t know about any of these. But it did do exactly what the name of it suggested – it helped me to start singing with freedom. Per Bristow does a really good job of explaining how singing shouldn’t be something difficult. It shouldn’t be something forced. It should, in fact, be something that is as easy as talking. But that was never the case with me. I was always forcing my singing (the problem was that I didn't know that I was doing it). And that was the reason why it just didn’t feel right.

By following the exercises I was able to see the difference almost instantaneously. The course takes you ‘muscle-to-muscle’, shows you how to relax it, and start singing more freely. The course is not long and doesn’t really spend much time trying to improve your range or anything like that. It just helps you to sing more naturally, without using any muscles that you don’t need.

After completing the course I went back to the other course, the Singing Success, and made some great progress with it. I did however find that it is hard keeping that relax feeling going on. I was singing incorrectly for so long, that if I wasn’t careful, I fell right back into my old singing habit. So it was a bit of a struggle for me and did have to go through the Sing with Freedom course (or at least parts of it) a couple of times. But now I think I finally internalized this new way of singing and I only occasionally repeat some of the exercises from the course.

Conclusion:

I know that this was really a review of two separate courses and I apologize for this, but this was how my singing education went and I couldn’t separate them. The conclusion is this: I feel that Sing with Freedom helped me become a singer. Looking back, I now see that, even though I thought of myself as a singer for quite some time, I really wasn’t one. You have to relax into singing and Sing with Freedom gives you that effortless power that you need. And that’s what it’s really all about: effortless power.

I think that the Sing with Freedom course is a great course and should be the one every singer starts with. I do not however think that this is the only course that you need. That is why I'm giving it a 9 star rating.

The other course (Singing Success) was, in my opinion, a necessary continuation. I already knew how to sing and it helped me become a much better singer. If you are already comfortable with your singing and singing already feels natural to you, then you can just skip Sing With Freedom and start with Singing Success righ away.

Sing With Freedom by Per Bristow - a review

After going through this home-study program I am feeling a lot more freedom in my singing. I am now over 100 performances into our show. I’m the only one right now not losing his voice. I feel inspired to improve my show every night using what I learned in the program. I love to sing again!

Malachi Haynes,

Per Bristow

I am constantly in awe of my voice to the point that I cannot believe it is actually coming out of my mouth. I cannot thank you enough for making such high-end vocal training available and affordable. You have single-handedly taken me from an average singer to a great singer, and I can think of very few people who have impacted my music as much as you have.
