The first several plans I received were good, but then more and more of the plans were just "discussion questions" and character information - no cool activities like in the first few months.  I have searched and searched for a way to cancel, I have sent emails to Susan Anderson using the link, but to no avail!  I feel like this is a scam, and my hard-earned teacher dollars are being wasted!

EnglishUnitPlans.com is one of my favorite websites. I rarely check the Internet, and I have very few websites bookmarked and this is one of them. I regularly get unit plans here for some unique ideas. They have both classics and modern ones in their collection, so as a teacher, I get total flexibility. Another thing that I like about this is that everything’s so easy to tweak depending on your class’s comprehension level. I’ve checked out other even more expensive unit plans before, but most of my favorites I got from this website.

This, for me, is heaven-sent. I’ve been looking for high quality unit plans I can use for my English reading class, and I wanted more current books to use. I believe in classics, but not for middle school students. They need to develop their love for reading first through books they can relate to. And besides, you cannot force a person to love a certain style. I know a lot of intellectual people who love Twilight, just as much as I know simpler people (in terms of academics) who prefer Umberto Eco. For me, I want them to know first that reading can be enjoyable, and it doesn’t have to be taken so seriously. I get exactly what I need from this website. They have a lot of modern books in their database that my students love learning from. They’re very easy to understand for students, and they really make reading so much more enjoyable for them. I started them off with Hunger Games. Of course, they couldn’t resist it. I got them Catching Fire next, and the response was even better. I’m so glad when I get students coming to my office to ask about books, like what they should read next or what I can say about a certain book they’re planning to read. I think that proves that the lessons in EnglishUnitPlans are effective. I couldn’t have done it on my own.

EnglishUnitPlans.com really changed the way I teach English. Before, my main problem was getting the children involved in discussions. A lot of my students are behind when it comes to reading, so ordinary activities do not work on them. They’re not interested in these activities at all. They prefer talking to their classmates or doing other things while I discuss. The first time I used a unit plan from here was for our Romeo and Juliet discussion. I knew that this, among others, has the power to get their interest in literature revved up because it’s a love story and a lot of them already know much about it. We just had to review the story a little bit, and then I gave them some trivia, and then we did some of the activities in the unit plan I got from here, and the response from the children was surprising. I was really shocked to see them so engaged in discussing why the story went that way, and in defending their favorite characters from the book. It was the first time I saw them that lively in reading class. The next unit plan I got was for Animal Farm. This was a bit of a challenge, but they liked the idea of having farm animals as the main characters. They also enjoyed it, although Romeo and Juliet is still the record holder. I’m planning to use more unit plans from this website in the coming months, whenever we need to discuss a new book.

For me, one of the hardest parts of teaching is making your unit plans, and thinking of effective ways to teach children. I lack creativity, so I needed much help in drafting my unit plans. EnglishUnitPlans.com provides me with all the ideas I need to make effective unit plans easily. The activities I got from this website are really fun. The children enjoy them so much. I just usually play up the activities to make them more appropriate to each class. There are also pre-made quizzes and chapter questions here, complete with answer keys. It takes away a chunk of burden off my shoulders. It’s also reasonably priced, so I don’t see any reason why teachers shouldn’t try it.

There are so many great ideas in this resource. I’ve been teaching English for quite some time now, but once a student complained that my classes were boring, so I did a little research on how to make my classes more fun. I found this resource, and the activities are great! The students love the games and the handouts I made using this resource. Some of those I customized for our lessons, but there are also some that I used as they are. I now make sure to tackle books that are included in this resource, so I get to save time. It’s great how the ideas in this resource make even the most boring stories interesting to discuss. My students have been more cooperative since I tried this new approach to teaching. I couldn’t be more thankful for finding this!
